Vocation Training for Poor Girls and Youth Women, Gagillapur, Telangana

Our organization operates a center for skill training called Don Bosco Human Resource Development Center, Gagillapur. This center focuses on providing short-term skill training in tailoring, beautician, sales, hospitality, electricals, plumbing, solar panel installation and diagnostic, AC refrigeration, and cell phone repair. The center has a network of 55 businesses in our region that provide employment opportunities to graduates and is located outside of Hyderabad. The center provides skill training programs for youth and young people who have been rehabilitated by orphanages, and safe homes and referred to us by charitable organizations working in poor communities in our region. Between 90 to 95% of students graduate from our various skill training programs, with a significant majority of them receiving immediate job offers from our network of employers.

In this project, we received financial assistance to train 80 girls and young women from poor communities and those who have been rehabilitated by orphanages and safe homes that are part of our organization and those belonging to other charities. Over a period of 6 months, these students will be trained in beautician, hairdressing, and tailoring. These skills are in high demand in all major cities in our region. We expect our youth to be well equipped to support themselves and their parents within the first few months of getting their job.
