Renovation and Certification of Don Bosco Technical School, Ongole, and Kurnool

Don Bosco Technical School, Kurnool, and Ongole were founded in 1991, and 2000 respectively to provide skill training opportunities for poor youth and young people in the community. The goal of these two institutions was to provide 3-to-6-month courses in tailoring, carpentry, welding, motor mechanics, plumbing, electricals, and other trade skills such as sales, hospitality, logistics, and tailoring, to ensure that poor youth can enter the workforce and be better equipped to support themselves and their parents. In recent years, students and parents in the community have been demanding that these centers provide certified industrial training to ensure that the degrees of graduates are recognized by the Government of India and industrial employers.

Such certification results in students earning higher wages and entering the workforce of major industrial organizations operating in our region. Our organization is working with these two institutions to install high-quality technical training equipment, renovate the campus, upgrade existing equipment and provide better student services. Such renovation and improvements will ensure that these two centers will meet regulatory requirements and will eventually be recognized by the Government of India as formal industrial skill training institutes.
